Stoneleaf breathed in the familiar scent of LittleClan's forest and gave a little skip. It had been a while since the Clans reached the Twolegplace located near LittleClan, and Stoneleaf had the feeling that today would be the day they reached LittleClan. She looked back, and saw that the other cats were excited about this too.
"Too bad Vineheart isn't feeling well," said a friendly voice. Stoneleaf recognized the voice right away and let out a gasp of happiness. It was Leafspark! She bounded toward the voice, crossing LittleClan's boundary with one jump.
Leafspark looked surprised when Stoneleaf suddenly popped out of a bramble, but then her eyes widened. "Stoneleaf, you're here!" She exclaimed in glee. She rubbed her nose with her friend and looked back with narrowed eyes. "Are they the other Clans? Why are they here?"
Stoneleaf shifted her paws. She was always so certain that Cinderstar would let the other Clans in- but now, she wasn't as certain as she used to be. Still, she lifted her head and meowed, "I'll talk to Cinderstar about that. First, we have to give them some food."
Leafspark nodded, and the cats moved toward LittleClan's camp. While they were going, Leafspark explained what was happening in LittleClan.
"Nothing too special." She meowed. "Vineheart is sick because of whitecough. Tallpaw is now Tallwhisker, and Shadowveil is having a jolly good time with Jaywing as always."
Leafspark stopped talking as she spotted Cinderstar and Lionclaw walking together, having a deep conversation.
"Hey, Cinderstar, look who's here!" Stoneleaf yowled in joy, briefly forgetting everything about her manner toward the Clan leader and bounding forward. She saw Lionclaw, her former mentor, and touched her nose with his.
"We're happy you're here, Stoneleaf." Cinderstar meowed worriedly. "But why are the Clans here?" Stoneleaf hesitated, then answered, "I think it would be better if I talk in front of the whole Clan."
Cinderstar nodded, and the cats headed toward the camp once again.
When Stoneleaf finished talking about the news, an awkward silence greeted it. Stoneleaf could see no one was fully satisfied with her plan, but couldn't turn down a bunch of cats who had gone through so many things. Cinderstar stepped up and meowed, "Me and Lionclaw will be make the final decision. Until then, WoodClan, AirClan and DarkClan will stay us. Please greet them warmly." She finished with a warning tone.
Cats dismissed, and Stoneleaf couldn't decide who to meet first. Grayhook? Bouncetail? Or her friends? Fortunately, most of the cats came toward her, so she didn't need to worry.
That night, Stoneleaf sat in the center of the camp, when everyone was asleep. She gazed at the glittering Silverpelt, and felt comforted that her ancestors were watching her in her own territory. At last, she was home.
