  • "Erisha!" Mom called from below. Erisha tossed and turned in bed. She was still asleep- still dreaming, not caring if her mother called her or not. "It`s the first day of middle school and you gotta get ready!" Mom yelled again. Erisha didn`t hear her. She was lost in the dream she was having, which was showing her favorite things. Macarongs, puppies, soft music, dozens of books and lots more. "Wake up or you`ll miss your bus!" Mom yelled for the last time. And Erisha`s eyes popped open. She looked at the calendar and groaned. Today was the day she had dreaded for the entire time she was an elementary school student; the firstday of the first year of middle school.

Erisha changed her clothes, combed her hair, and dragged her feet downstairs. She didn`t want to go to middle school. Most would have almost no reasons for hating schools, but Erisha had one big explanation for hating schools. Erisha attended many academies, and one of them was the subject she rather liked. It was math, as almost half of your grade shall reply the opposite opinion. Erisha didn`t mind her math academy, the teacher was nice, her friends were good at anything and were friendly. She didn`t hate math, she hated the homework that was given.

"Mom, the amount of the math homework is dreadful." Erisha grumbled as she ate her cereal. "I stayed up until dawn last night, and I could only sleep for a hour and a half." She sighed. "And that`s your problem. When you go to middle school, you`ll get more homework. Then you could spend the whole night awake, understand?" Mom scolded. "Then you can find me a new way to study math. I don`t really need to go to that academy to study the whole subject-" Erisha`s protest was suddenly cut off.

"You just have to work harder." Mom coldly replied. "Now eat up your cereal or you`ll miss the bus." She said as she banged on the door, indicating that the school bus had just arrived. Erisha sighed as she slung her backpack over her shoulders. Mom had waken her from the 'perfect' dream, and she was already in a bad mood for that. She also knew today was the first day of middle school, and she knew that was making a bad day for her too. Did mom really have to scold her for her math homework to make her day worse? Erisha slightly waved to mom as she ran out th front door. She scrambled up the stairs of the bus and took a seat. The journey was long and uneventful, so Erisha slept for twenty minutes. When she woke up, the bus had stopped and kids were running out. Erisha got up and got out of the bus and went into the building where the dreadful events seemed to be waiting for her.

Because it was the first day of school, Erisha went into the school auditorium for the morning assembly. She had to get informed of the rules. The principal soon stepped up to the microphone, and Erisha sat up upright. The principal began speaking. Erisha didn`t pay much attention. Her mind was wandering off, and she felt sleepy. But something woke her up.

"Rule number one." The principal said. "NO HOMEWORK."
