"Hannah," 

A tap on her shoulder made Hannah flying across the room. "What? Am I late to my class? Lunch?" she shouted.

A girl with short brown hair which was tied into a very shot ponytail, and with remarkable blue shining eyes which was covered by big, round, pink glasses blinked at Hannah. "Um, actually, I was just hoping that you would tell me where to find the Red Head." she said with half amused, half alerted tone.

"Red Head?" Hannah echoed. "Whose that?"

"You know, the boss." 

"The what? Sorry, but I don't understand what you mean."

"Well, she's the commender and she takes care of things. When I asked where I could find her, everyone kept repeating, 'We don't know. But a girl in blue, ridiculous pigtails might know. She went to meet her once, and that must mean she knows where to find the Red Head.'." 

"Blue, ridiculous pigtails?" Hannah muttered under her breathe, frowning a little. "Well, if you're talking about Jane, she's at the north tower. At least that's where I met her." she said in a louder voice, which was slightly cold.

"I didn't say it! Just that everyone said it!" the girl added as she looked at Hannah nervously. "Anyway...it's not like I know anyone here. One minute I was with some people I think are mommy and daddy and the next minute I'm here in this desolate - when I first saw it - place."

"Come along. I'll take you there." Hannah said as she stood up and limped toward the door. "I'm Hannah, what about you?"

"Alexanderous." she said. "Just call me Alex."

They walked in silence as the two walked - limped in Hannah's case - toward the north tower's stairway. 

This place is beautiful, Hannah thought as they reached the hallway that lead to the tower. She looked at the white blossoms sprouting out of the flower bed, which was illuminated by golden rays of sunshine which filled the room. 

Then Hannah glanced at Alex, who was trudging behind her, looking uncomfortable. She kept staring at the round and touching her short ponytail. "Why do you want to meet Jane?" Hannah asked as Alex flinched at the name. 

"Well, Katie sent me here," she replied, naming the girl who had sent Hannah to meet Jane when she came here as well.  

"Not many kids are sent to meet Jane, you know," Hannah said, climbing up the stairs with little difficulty because of her leg. "And only a few return to a second, or even a third meeting. I went to meet her twice. But after that, for five years, I haven't seen her face. I'd be surprised if she's here because she wasn't here for two and one third years after my second meeting. I used to creep up to this tower to check out she's here and always nobody. Nobody. It's as if she left this castle." she paused, looking at Alex in the eye. "But that's impossible because she was the person who told me nobody is available to leave this castle. Nobody is supposed to-"

Her words trailed away as they reached the door to the room. The room where Hannah had found Jane. "Well, I guess we're here." she said. "Now, before you go in, I have to warn you not to expect so much. There will only be a wodden table, and Jane would be standing at the only window of the room. The room will be bare if I have to say it."

"Okay." Alex nodded and went in.

After a few seconds, as Hannah lingered behind the shut door, there was a scream. Then a voice said, "HELP!" To Hannah's horror, the voice belonged neither to Jane nor Alex. It was of Katie's.
