A trip to the past #2: Where are we?

We opened our eyes. The first thing that we could see was the bright, blue sky.

I stood up, and Ann stood up. "Ann," I asked. "Yes, Kelly?" "I want to ask you something." I said.

"Of course." Ann said. "Do you know where we are?" She shrugged. "I have no idea, even though

I`m the age of going to middle school." I giggled. Ann was a 14-year old girl, and she was in first grade.

Cindy, Jon, and Tim stood up. Cindy, who was a year older than Ann, and five years older than me,

(That surely means I`m ten) Stood up. Jon, who was only six years old, started to cry. "Come on." I said,

trying my best to comfort him. But Tim, who was only four, also started to cry. "Oh." I sighed again.

I looked around. We were in a distant cliff. The top was high up, at least it looked about 3km and a half.

Then, we looked at ourselves. We were dressed in clothing of animal skin. "Is this...the north pole?"

Ann guessed. I shook my head. "It can`t be." I said. "It`s hot here." The others all agreed.

The sun was scorching. "Can`t we do something to cool off?" I asked.

Cindy shrugged. "You have a bag, you know." She said. "Why don`t you open it?" I opened it and I found twigs. And a fan, a notebook, an eraser and a pencil,

stones for a nice, hot fire, and the eight emeralds, shining brightly with thier green colors. We also found some

knives and arrows, probably for hunting. We found a rope dangling across the cliff. Ann threw another rope

we had, and then threw an arrow at the top. She tugged it on and it wouldn`t fall off. We found more stones in the ground. We dug them up and made a staircase with a net.  After a few hours, the work was finished. Bound to be careful, Ann climbed up first. Then, Me, And Cindy, taking care of the boys.

"Um....guys?" She asked. She signaled us to stop, and she got out and looked at the animal closely.

"I think I know what time is it, and where we are." We were suddenly frightened. "Where is it?" Cindy asked

cautiously. Ann gulped. "There`s a mammoth at the top." She said, her voice shaky. "We`re probably at Siberia or Korea, I guess. But that`s not all- We`re at the ancient times, the ice age!" Everyone gasped. "But why is it Korea, if it is Korea?" Cindy asked. "Because at Korea, they also had a cold weather at the ice age."

Just then, a wind blew. The weather was getting colder. We went down the steps.

We spotted a cave at the end. We rushed inside. We noticed some turkey and dried meat at the

end of the cave. Jon, Ann and Tim went to get the meat. Me and Cindy tended the fire.

"We don`t have any veggies." Cindy said. "Oh!" I said. I opened my bag. A pack of fresh carrots were there.

Ann found some seeds and we planted them. We made a cave door just in case it became very cold,

or a mammoth gets inside. We also explored the back side of the cave, and we also made a back door.

We found a big hole, and made walls in it. After cleaning out dirt and washing it with water,

it became a fine playing-space. We made air vents and at the afternoon, we went out to the market,

when days were not very cold. We usually bought a dump of things, for the days were

getting colder. Our life continued like this.....
