Hermione Granger and the Sorcerer's Stone

Prologue

A girl with brown-curly hair was sitting behind a stack of books. Her brown eyes were blurred as she read the book's page. The girl's name was Hermione Granger, and she just became eleven. 

 Weeks before, something very strange happened to her. She was doing her homework when her mother, Mrs. Granger thought she had just seen a brown owl and went outside. And when she saw a letter lying on her footstep, she couldn't help wondering. Hermione rarely received letters, and most of the few letters were from the school-about the exam result which was always A. 

“Hermione,” Mrs. Granger shouted, “someone sent you a letter!”

Hermione blinked-who’s sending her a letter? Wondering, she ran downstairs.

“Do you know who sent it, mom?”

“No idea...honey, do you know a person named Hogwarts?” Mrs. Granger asked as she handed Hermione the letter.

Hermione started reading the letter, and minutes later, she murmured.

“Mom, Hogwarts is not a person...it is a school,” she rubbed her eyes as if she can’t believe it. “And its full name is Hogwarts of witchcraft and wizardry!”

Mrs. Granger blinked. “A school…? Of witch-what?? Does this mean…?”

The door opened behind them. “What’s this all about?” Mr. Granger said, yawning. “Hermione, what’s that?”

“It’s a letter...about a school…” Hermione said uncertainly as she gave the letter to Mr. Granger, who rubbed his eyes and looked down at it. There was a silence as he read it about three times. When he finished reading it, he looked at Hermione with his mouth opened.

“It says...you are a witch, Hermione. And you will go to school called..(he looked at the letter again)Hogwarts-I never heard of a school called Hogwarts...Wait a moment, OUR HERMIONE? A WITCH?” Mr. Granger said, bewildered.

“Look, dad.” Hermione suddenly spotted something at the bottom of the letter. “There’s a P.S. A teacher will escort you for school things this Monday-and it’s tomorrow!”

Hermione now seemed excited. “Isn’t it amazing? I’d better get ready!”

Hermione wasn’t shocked as much as her parents. Actually, she sometimes thought that she was different. Once she was riding her bike, and crashed into a tree by the street. And she couldn’t tell why the tree soften and she managed without a single scratch.

“Wait a minute, Hermione. If the letter’s true, and you are a witch, it is not an easy problem.” Her mother finally opened her mouth.

“Well, let’s just wait until the professor arrives (Are the teacher called professor? That’s quite odd…)” His dad said. He too looked worried like Mrs. Granger. “I think I should take time off tomorrow.”

Leaving Mr. And Mrs. Granger worried, Hermione gleefully walked upstairs to her room.
