A trip to the past #1: The journey starts
It all started on a hot, summer vacation. Grandmother was looking at her jewels, as usual.
Rubies dotted her necklace, diamond pins covered her hair. I sighed.
"Come in, Kelly." She said. "You can try hiding, but you won`t go too far out of my sight!" She joked.
I laughed, I simply couldn`t help it! "Do you want to touch the emeralds for a while?"
She asked. I nodded. It wasn`t wrong that I didn`t like precious stones like diamonds or emeralds!
There were eight pieces, and I picked up the first piece. It was shaped like a heart. I gazed.
I looked at the second one. At the back was filled with glitter. I shook my head.
I looked at the third one. A shape like a monster. I laughed.
I looked at the fourth one. It was just plain. I smiled.
I looked at the fifth one. It was a plain square. But when I turned it on the back side, there was a mirror!
I looked at my face and tried to erase some glitter that had gotten on my face when I was touching
the second emerald.
I looked at the sixth one. It was rather grass-colored rather than a deep green. I could see a robot inside.
The sixth one spoke! I gazed in amzement. I knew this required lots of experience and work.
The seventh one had a crack, and I knew that it would break in half. I called my cousins, wanting to
see the last emerald alltogether. Soon, My dear cousins, Rebecca, Jon, Tim, and Ann ran up.
"Do you see it?" I asked. Everyone rather gazed or laughed.
"OK." I grabbed the last emerald tightly in my hand, and suddenly, a light shone up from the emerald.
It shone on the mirror and made the glitter look sparkly. The square and the monster emerald
shone the light in every section of the room. The Grass colored emerald, who had just hit the light,
showed a horizon of grass in the empty wall. The computer emerald began to speak. The heart shaped
one made circles and triangles, and all kinds of diffrent and odd shapes, when the room was very messy. Light
blinded our eyes and it went brighter and even more brighter, until the entire room was filled with light.
Then, everything began spinning. Everyone held onto each other tightly.
Then, all of a sudden, we fell on the ground with a sudden, loud "Oof!"
We stood up.
