My Hands Aren't Following My Commands (Visiting My Grandparents #1)
Today, I'm visiting my grandparents. My grandparents live on a small island, Geumdang-do in Wando. Because it's an island, I have to ride a car and take a ship, too. I have to ride a car for 5 hours and take a ship for another 30 minutes.
I woke up, had breakfast, and got ready. We were planning to leave our house at about 9 a.m., so we all got ready by 9:00.
My dad made coffee, so he wouldn't be sleepy while he's driving. We brought our bags. Dad left the coffee in the kitchen, so I brought the coffee for him. Mom was tying her shoelaces. I handed the coffee over her head to Dad. Dad was just about to grab it when...
Mom finished tying her shoes and as she stood again her head hit the coffee! Unfortunately, I wasn't holding the cup tightly. Dad's coffee spilled all over the floor. Mom's clothes got soaked. Our shoes got soaked. Some of our bags got soaked. Oh, god. I just wanted to help, but instead, I just ruined things! "Oh my god!" mom shrieked. Then she calmed herself. "I guess we should clean it up and go," she said.
Mom changed her clothes and washed my shoes. Mine weren't soaked a lot, so mom washed them, but mom's shoes were. So, she went to the laundry shop to ask them to wash her shoes. I didn't try to help her because I thought I would just make things worse. These days, my hands are not holding things tightly so I drop things often. I even broke my phone lately!
After the coffee accident, we finally got to ride the car at about 9:30. Dad drove, drove, and drove.
Finally, at 3:10 p.m., we arrived at the area where we could ride the ship which is going to where my grandparents live. The ship was going to leave at 3:30. Mom bought the tickets. We drove our car into the ship. And we waited.
Finally, the ship departed from the area. The ship sailed slowly.
And there we were! We finally arrived at the island. We drove for another 10 minutes. Then, there was my grandparents' house!
When we parked our car in front of the house, my grandma came out. She hugged me and my mom. (She didn't do the same for my dad.) Then we went inside.
My grandpa wasn't there because he was playing gateball with his friends.
